Silver Lining

by Rachelle Estar Zerebeski

Every cloud has

A silver lining

Or so they say

But the Silver Lining

Never comes

Right away

First comes the

Dark shape

Obstructing the light

Then a

Brighter shade

Comes into sight

The virtue comes again

Shining, preserving darkness

Only below

And then

Comes the Silver

Lining, so

Keep your face to

The sun and you

Cannot see the shadow

Focus on the advantageous

And then the imperfections

Will never show

Something we take

For granted,

Our beloved sight;

To see the starry sky

And the moon

Shining at night

To see our

Loved ones, to

See them every day

To see all we see

And then, in the end,

To also have our say

This is what we

Live for; that we should see,

And, that we always may
