Author's Ambition

by Rachelle Estar Zerebeski

I am sitting here all alone
In a darkened place
Iridescent computer glow
Now is on my face

The words and lines are in my head
But without notes or song
Imagination has gone dead
And all my thoughts are gone

But then a sudden inspiration
Then a tiny spark
And images and incantations
Aren't far apart

You hear the laptop keyboard click
See my fingers fly
Imagination starts to tick
As the time goes by

I am sitting here all alone
In a darkened place
Iridescent computer glow
Now is on my face

Words and lines are now in my head
And poems, stories too
My ambition is being fed
And being shared with you
