Cold Night Street

by Rachelle Estar Zerebeski

Walking along
The cold night street
The air is warm but you
Can’t feel the heat

Cause everybody’s cool
That’s what they’re trying to be
Nobody hears and
Nobody sees

They all pretend
Not to care
When trouble comes
They aren’t even there

Cause everybody’s cool
That’s what they’re trying to be
Nobody hears and
Nobody sees

And all the world is
Full of hurting
But they don’t cry
Cause that’s not a cool thing

And cool is what counts
It’s all they know
The air is warm but
It’s as cold as snow

Cause everybody’s cool
That’s what they’re trying to be
Nobody hears and
Nobody sees
Nobody hears and
Nobody sees
