Downtown

by Rachelle Estar Lietz

Winding streets
That should be straight
Walking through
I lose my way
I am lost
In a place
Where even a child
Could navigate
And it's so odd
To be so near
To everything
And still feel fear
Someone smiles
I smile back
It isn't happiness
That I lack
I see a sign
And understand
And in ten minutes
I am home again
