Writer's World

by Rachelle Estar Zerebeski

Arcs and curves
Along the page
The letters dance
The words are sage
To my own eyes
And wandering mind
Its pounding rhythm
Leaves me blind
I let it spill
Upon the sheet
I leave the world
Let it sleep
While I escape
Into the place
Of a writer's world
Humour and grace
Or daring battles
Knights and kings
Cooks and maids
And fancy things
Forget the time
Let it go
Can't see the clock
Don't want to know
In a writer's world
It doesn't matter
Any dish
Or any platter
Anything
My heart desires
Midnight skies
Or camp side fires
My fingertips
Control them all
Terribly big
Or infinitely small
Mine to create
And change as I please
On these lands of ink
And paper seas
There is nothing
I can't find
In this Writer's
World of mine
